To celebrate our 10 years of the contactfestival freiburg we plan many surprises!

We chose the winners of the competition: Contact Improvisation in unusual sites and situations!

Fascinated we were watching your little films, which you were sending for the video competition at the contactfestival freiburg 09.
So many creative approaches with unusual sites, like: in nature, human technologies and private and public places!

You started to bring the dance out to the world and shared it with the community!
Thanks for your rich and inspiring videos!!

We hope also that you all keep on doing so, feel inspired and develop the films even more or you got new ideas to follow up with! And keep on sharing your experiences, ideas, thoughts, inspiration with us on the contactfestival community site! You can start a new discussion under the category competition! Or comment the other Videos!

Now we had to decide – and it was very hard – how can we prefer one if everyone has it’s own creative meaning and approach! We three discussed, emailed exchanged a long time now and finally managed to come up with three winners!

CONGRATULATION TO:

The three videos have three different and unique approaches of Contact Improvisation in unusual sites and situations. We couldn’t decide which one is best since we felt we couldn’t compare them with another.
We decided now and we hope you all are with us to give all three the same price:
One place at the festival and one reduction of 135 Euro at the Festival 2009 for each team!

Nevertheless we found each of the films are very inspiring and would like to show the videos at the festival 09. And we will keep the videos for sure here on line, that people can still see them!

One is the video competition "CI in Unusual Sites and Situations".

With this activity, we wish to encourage CI dancers to bring the dance to new places and into new situations, to challenge yourself and to challenge the outside world, ... to spread new seeds.

"CI in unusual sites and situations"

We keep 3 places reserved for the winners of this contest. 1. prize: 1 place guaranteed including free entrance 2. prize: 1 place guaranteed including half price reduction 3. prize: 1 place guaranteed (All prizes are valid for the contactfestival freiburg 2009) Conditions: you dance Contact at an unusual place or in an unusual situation you record it on video (max. length 5 minutes), the video does not need to be on an artistically high level, important is the idea and its execution/documentation you upload the video on our "contactfestival community" site commenting your idea and execution with a few sentences. Only one Video per Person! The Videos stay available to be watched here at the community site. Some of the material might become part of our documentation of the 10th anniversary, or shown in the frame of the festival. We would ask those applicants separately for permission. Deadline: All videos which are uploaded till 15th of March, 09 are considered to take part in the competition. 1 Video per person! DEADLINE CHANGED! You have now the possibility to send Videos till the 30th of April, 09!!! Selection procedures: The team selects the 3 most interesting videos and informs the winner until the 1st of April 09 - changed to the 15th of May 09! The prize remains bound to the person, if the winner should not accept the prize, it goes to the next competitor. 3 places are distributed in any case among the applicants! The technical approach: You can upload your video on our "contactfestival community" site http://contactfestival.ning.com/ and watch other uploaded videos. You need to become a memb‚er of the "contactfestival community " site first. Just follow the instructions on the site. As soon as you are registered, you can upload your own video and give comments to others.
